You did not choose me, but I chose you (John 15:16)

This is the love of our God. That He chose us, sinful human beings. Us, the ones who tend to look at ourselves and this world for salvation when all we find is empty promises and pathways leading to dead ends. The ones who fail time and time again at recognizing the Cross, the symbol of a second chance given. God chose us. He looks past our sins and blots out our transgressions. Why? Because His grace is bigger than our sins. Because He loves us far too much to let petty sin get in the way of having a relationship with Him. Sometimes, life isn’t hard because of what we’re going through. It’s the way we’re going through it. We can’t do this on our own. So why not let the only one who can do it with us. His love is something no one will ever be able to fully comprehend because His love isn’t something you can fit into a box of understanding. Can you just think of this for a second? God created us last. Why? Because He wanted the sky and the earth and the ocean, all the beauty that rests in nature, to be there when we arrived. He wanted us to have the best of the best. He chose us. And when sin corrupted our perfect intended nature, He sent His only Son to die for our lives.

I wish the world knew of this love. I wish those of you who are lost and reading this knew of the love of God. It’s something powerful, something words couldn’t possibly be able to explain. It’s an experience with a response. God chose us. The ones who mess up every single day and yet, He still can’t help but love us unconditionally, infinitely, entirely. How in the world can that be possible? Well, with God, nothing is impossible.

The next time you feel ashamed or unworthy of His grace, remember, He chose you.
